US Capitol building

The power of the home building industry lies in its grassroots advocacy efforts. Legislative Conference allows NAHB members to lobby members of Congress to protect their businesses and industry, establish relationships and ensure that policymakers hear housing issues.

The meetings, held on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., are a critical part of the Federation’s advocacy efforts to keep housing issues a priority with federal lawmakers. Your participation can make a difference.

2024 Legislative Priorities

NAHB has identified three high-priority topics to address with lawmakers:

  • Fixing supply chain disruptions to boost transformer production;
  • Reversing a disastrous energy codes policy that places homeownership out of reach for families; and
  • Easing the chronic workforce shortage by keeping Job Corps fully funded.
